貫耳壺器形源自上古青銅器，宋代時開始出現瓷器品種。清代乾隆時期，高宗皇帝好古成癖，貫耳壺因其端莊古樸的造型而得到乾隆帝的喜愛，當時景德鎮禦窯廠因此燒造了大量釉色相異、器形有別的貫耳壺供乾隆帝賞玩。本壺即為乾隆朝貫耳壺中最具代表性的壹類，其口部略外撇，呈海棠形，頸部兩側飾貫耳，腹部下垂，兩面分飾杏圓凸起，下承圈足，整器造型端莊挺拔、古樸大氣。壺通體施窯变釉，釉面遍布開片，釉汁肥厚斑斕，紅藍兩色，交織相融，燦若晚霞。

The whole body of the pot is covered with variable glaze, and the glaze surface is all over the place.
