貫耳壺器形源自上古青銅器,宋代時開始出現瓷器品種。清代乾隆時期,高宗皇帝好古成癖,貫耳壺因其端莊古樸的造型而得到乾隆帝的喜愛,當時景德鎮禦窯廠因此燒造了大量釉色相異、器形有別的貫耳壺供乾隆帝賞玩。本壺即為乾隆朝貫耳壺中最具代表性的壹類,其口部略外撇,呈海棠形,頸部兩側飾貫耳,腹部下垂,兩面分飾杏圓凸起,下承圈足,整器造型端莊挺拔、古樸大氣。壺通體施窯变釉,釉面遍布開片,釉汁肥厚斑斕,紅藍兩色,交織相融,燦若晚霞。
