民國三年版正面為袁世凱側面像，上列“中華民國三年”。“年”字後沒有“造”字，其他年版都在“年”字後面有壹“造”字。三年版“民”字中有壹“點”，而其他年版民字無“點”。鑄造量較少的版別有：“O”記版、粗發版、三角圓版、開口貝版、加鑄“甘肅”兩字版、背雙星版、大胡須版、大耳朵版等。民國三年(1914年)，北洋軍閥政府正式鑄造袁世凱頭像銀幣，因幣上鑄有袁世凱側身頭像，故民間俗稱‘袁大頭’。錢面：袁世凱光頭側面像，上環“中華民國三年”。錢背：中間為壹圓，左右嘉禾環繞。

        The three-year version of the Republic of China is a portrait of Yuan Shikai, listed above as "Three Years of the Republic of China." There is no "made" after the word "year", and other years have a "made" word after the word "year". In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), the Beiyang Warlord Government officially cast Yuan Shikai's head of silver coins.
