明永樂朝為中國青花瓷歷史中的黃金時代,而此盤所繪之纏枝花卉紋飾在當朝最負盛名。永樂窯廠不僅為朝廷燒制,更兼外銷,通過官方的貿易制度出口至中東,後被仿制成陶器。相似例子珍罕,唯見於世界著名博物館及私人收藏。十五世紀初紋飾革新,器壁始用折枝花卉紋,讓十四世紀以來繁密的纏枝蓮或牡丹花紋飾出現了新的面貌。永樂青花,采用中東進口的鈷藍料,燒造時有自然的暈散現象,呈色鮮艷奪目,濃淡有別,層次分明。細潤致密的胎體上,留下鈷鐵結晶斑,濃處凝聚為黑色錫光,發出晶瑩通透之光澤,成為明初禦制青花瓷器的時代風格。
The Ming dynasty was a golden age in the history of Chinese blue and white porcelain.
