哥窯舉世聞名，乃宋代名瓷之壹，此倭角洗為其經典之例。然哥窯樣貌，眾說紛紜，其名稱未明示所屬地區，難以判斷確切窰址，或為浙江龍泉壹對瓷人兄弟所立，瓷徵究竟為何，尚未能定述。現今所述哥瓷多為高溫燒製胎身，施開片青釉，甚是接近宋官窯瓷，但釉色乳濁不透，略帶灰、或青、或褐調。古文獻中二詞用以詠哥瓷，「紫口鐵足」，意指胎骨色深褐，「金絲鐵線」，謂其釉面層疊豐富的開片紋，主紋深黑，細致密紋呈金紅色。

        The world famous ge kiln is one of the famous song dynasty porcelain. However, there were different opinions about the appearance of the kiln. Its name did not indicate the place it belonged to. It was difficult to judge the exact kiln site. Nowadays, most of the elder brother's porcelains are fired at high temperature with a blue glaze, which is close to that of the imperial kiln of song dynasty. However, the glaze color is opaque and slightly gray, green or brown. In ancient literature, the two words used to chant elder brother porcelain, "purple mouth iron foot", meaning the color of fetal bone deep brown, "gold wire wire", that its glaze layer rich open grain, the main grain deep black, fine dense grain is golden red.
